What is a zine?

A fanzine (often shortened to zine) is an unofficial collection of illustrations and written works compiled into book form and often accompanied by physical (sometimes digital) merchandise. While zines originally began as small, at-home personal creations made by a single creator, they have since grown into large-scale projects that involve a variety of creatives unified by their common love for a piece of media and its characters!

Will this zine be NSFW?

No, the zine will be SFW with levels of violence and darker themes to the extent present in canon, but not beyond.

Will this zine be physical or digital?

We are planning for the zine to be physical, this includes the zine itself as well as physical merch. However, there will be digital zine and merch options available.

Will this zine be for charity or for profit?

The zine will be for-profit, with profits from sales going directly into providing all contributors a free bundle of the zine and all merch. Any leftover profits will be split among the team.

Are you going to ship internationally?

Yes! Covid-19 and VAT restrictions willing, we are planning on shipping worldwide! For reference, our shipping mod is based out of the USA.

Will shipping be allowed?

No, this zine is 100% ship-free and will be featuring platonic relationships only, if any.

Why is there no interest check or contributor apps? And isn’t there another villains zine going on right now?

First off, yes there is another OP villain zine going on right now, and all mods on this project as well as the majority of the contributors were originally a part of that zine. To make a long story short, we mods left that zine due to what we felt were consistent and long-running management issues from the head mod, including but not limited to:

We informed the contributors on why we left and gave them the option to join us in a new villains zine so that their hard work would not go to waste. Thus, the zine you see today. To be clear, every contributor from the previous zine came over to this one 100% voluntarily and may leave at any time should they feel uncomfortable continuing with the project. The same goes for new contributors who were not a part of the previous zine, as they were fully informed of the situation and history before joining willingly. We hold no ill will towards any contributors who did not join the team and would like to stress that despite the issues above, we have no ill will towards the previous zine or its remaining mod team either.Our goal with this zine is to create a healthier, safer and more productive environment for both the mods and contributors to work in. We do not condone nor endorse any harsh/unnecessary negative talk and/or harassment of the previous zine or its team, and any mods or contributors caught doing so will be removed from this project. We simply hope to move forward and create a project we can be truly proud of!
